NAARRI has been organizing Awareness Programmes regularly in different parts of our country. The target audience for these programmes have been graduate/post graduate students, faculty members, research scholars, NGO’s and others. Applications of Radioisotopes and Radiation Technology in health care, agriculture, Industry, Food Processing etc have been highlighted in these programmes by arranging lectures by eminent persoinalities in the respective fileds and exhibitions. These programmes evoked keen interest not only from the Acamadecians but also from the general public and media alike. So far, we have organized over 37 such programmes nation wide form Gujrat on the west to Manipur on the North East and Kerala in the south to Amritsar in the North. NAARRI proposes to organize several such programmes in the comng years, so that the benefit of the peaceful uses of Nuclear Energy reaches even the remotest places of our country.
The first such programme was organized during 1989 (February 28th), on the "Beneficial Uses and Applications of Radioisotopes" in V.G. Vaze College, Mulund wherein about 500 graduate/ post graduate students from various colleges in Mumbai and Thane district participated.
During 1989 another awareness Programme for the school children in and around Virar, Vasai area was organized.
An awareness Programme in association with State Committee on Science and Technology, Govt of Kerala was organized during the year 1989.
During 1990 am Awareness Programme on "Application of Radioisotopes and Radiation" was organized for the students of Atomic Energy Central Schools / Junior College in Mumbai.
During 1991 (January 25th) another Awareness Programme was organized for the benefit of School and college students and teachers in Navi Mumbai ( St. Mary’s School, Vashi)
A state level Awareness Programme was organized in association with Bishop Moore college, Mavelikara during 1995 where in 1300 post graduate/ graduate students and faculty members from various universities of Kerala, general public and professionals from industries and research organizations participated.
An Awarenss Programme on "Application of Radioisotopes and Radiation Technology" was organized at Anna university Chennai during 1996 wherein about 500 students and faculty members from various colleges In Chennai and nearby districts participated.
Another 2 day Awareness Programme in association with District Science Centre, Tirunaveli was organized during March 2-3, 1999 at Tirunelveli wherein medical professionals, industrialists, post-graduate students and faculty members (650 nos) participated.
A 2 day Awareness Programme on "Application of Radioisotopes and Radioactivity" for Societal Benefit was organized in association with North Eastern Hill Univeristy, Shillong, Deptt. Of Science and Technology and Geological Survey of India, during November 26-27,1999 wherein about 400 post-graduate representatives from research institutions, science and technology personnel, faculty members from entire north-east region participated. His Excellency M.M. Jacob, The Governor of Meghalaya inaugurated the function.
A 2 day Awareness Programme on "Applications of Radioisotopes and Radiation" for the societal benefit was organized during May 31 – June 1, 2001 at Imphal, Manipur in association with Manipur Science and Technology covering 400 participants from research institutions, science and technology councils of North – Eastern region and students and faculty members from various colleges.
A 2 day Awareness Programme on "Applications of Radioisotopes and Radiation Technology" was organized in association with Institute of Physics, Bhubhaneshwar during November 21-22, 2002 wherein about 400 participants from Orissa and Andhra Pradesh participated.
A 2 day State level Awareness Programme on "Applications of Radioisotopes and Radiation Technology" was organized in association with NSS Hindu college, Chenganacherry, Kerala during November,2003, wherein more than 1000 participants from Spices Board, Rubber Board, research organizations, industrialists and Post graduate students and faculty members from various universities such as Mahatama Gandhi University, Kerala University, Calicut University, Cochin University participated. His Excellency, The Late Shri. Sikander Bakht, Governor of Kerala inaugurated the function. Shri. SK Sharma Chairman Atomic Energy Regualtory Board and Shri. B Bhattacharjee,Director BARC were also present.
An Awareness Programme was organized at Chennai during July 13- 14,2004 on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration of Department of Atomic Energy in association with INS and ISNT, Kalpakkam wherein about 1000 post graduates from various colleges in and around Chennai, industrialists, professionals from various medical and engineering colleges and institutions participated.
An Awareness Programme was organized at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, Kerala during the year 2006
2 Awareness Programmes were organized in different parts of Assam.(Jorhat and Guwahatti were organized during the period 2007-2008.
NAARRI organized several training programmes on “RT-1 and RT-2 level Radiographic training course”. About 18 such courses were organized to train man-power requirement in the industry.
Organized many “Management Induction” Programme involving senior level executives from industries on specific requirement in association with Patalganga Rasayani Associations, M/s Reliance etc.
A one day Awareness Porgramme on “Management of emergencies/accidents at site for practicing radiographers” was held at Mumbai during September 2003.
A one day Awareness Programme on “Management of emergency/radiation accidents at site” was organized at Kolkatta during November 2013
